There is nothing unusual about a photo of Nicky Hayden at a motorcycle race, but this was not a weekend that he competed in. This picture was taken at the 2010 AMA Superbike season finale at Barber Motorsports Park. True to the unconditional love for his family that he was so well known for, Nicky was there to support his big brother Tommy who had just won the first race of the weekend and was in with an outside chance at winning the title. One year on from Nicky’s passing, as I thought about all the photos I have taken of him over the years, this was the image that I felt best represents the man he was and what he will be most remembered for.
