I’m Daniel Lo, a retired motorsports photographer based in Chicago, IL. As a race fan for many years, I began photographing professional motorcycle racing in 2008 shortly after being laid off from my rather unexciting job as a technical writer at a small engineering firm. Armed with a borrowed camera from my brother Ivan and dreams of shooting photos for the motorcycle racing magazines that littered my home, I spontaneously booked a trip to the next race on the calendar and continued to do so for the next decade. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing MotoGP, World Superbike, MotoAmerica/AMA Superbike, and the Isle of Man TT.

I decided to take an indefinite break from photography in 2020, by which time I had also become a Formula One fan. My current focus in the racing world is a project called Grand Prix Watches, a resource that documents a complete history of F1 and MotoGP timepieces.
