In 2010, the AMA Superbike series got a welcomed boost when MotoGP veteran John Hopkins returned to racing stateside. Having worked the entire race calendar that season, I thoroughly enjoyed having “Hopper” around in the paddock. This contemplative portrait of him at VIR reflected a tough return to racing after his old wrist injury forced him to sit out the prior four rounds.
